The Hobbit Trilogy - Scheduled Release Dates

The highly anticipated prequel to The Lord Of The Rings Trilogy (The Fellowship Of The Ring [2001], The Two Towers [2002] and The Return Of The King [2003]), The Hobbit will be a trilogy by its own rights. Peter Jackson continues to helm this classic in the making. The good news is, the first installment of The Hobbit will be released in just about 4 months time and there are some sequels (to the prequel) to look out for in the following 2 years.

Following are the scheduled release dates for The Hobbit Trilogy:

The Hobbit : An Unexpected Journey        - 14 December 2012

The Hobbit : The Desolation Of Smaug*   - 13 December 2013

The Hobbit : There And Back Again          - 18 July 2014

*In case you are clueless, smaug is the name of the villainous dragon in the movie (Benedict Cumberbatch voices the beastie).
