Pacific Rim 2 Is A CONFIRMED Project (Apr 2017)

Pacific Rim 2
Personally, I like last year's MEGA blockbuster (even though the box office in US is not as mega but the international box offices are piercing hot) from Guillermo del Toro, Pacific Rim.  The good news is, the sequel is a confirmed project now, as announced by the director himself.

He will be working together with Zak Penn (screenwriter) on the sequel and is expected to be released on 7th April 2017.  The other piece of good news is that he is also working on an animated series for the franchise.

Can't wait for the sequel!

Still not convinced? Check out the video clip below to see for yourself on how Guillermo del Toro said it:

Predator Reboot Will Be Directed By Shane Black

Predator reboot
20th Century Fox has officially confirmed that the Iron Man 3 director, Shane Black will helm the directorship of the reboot of predator. Oh, he will be the writer too. Black also directed Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and wrote the Lethal Weapon movies and Monster Squad.

If you still remember, the last reboot of predator is in 2010 by Robert Rodriguez and its called Predators (not an innovative name though). The movie is so-so only and I hope Black can successfully bring back the raw fear/excitement that tormented the movie-goers (me included) when it was first screened in 1987.

Shane Black - to direct Predator reboot

Are you excited about this upcoming reboot project?

Produced by Michael Bay and directed by Jonathan Liebesman (Battle: Los Angeles, Wrath of the Titans), this reboot of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set to repaint how the turtles (or the ninjas, whatever) looks like, facially!

The city needs heroes. Darkness has settled over New York City as Shredder and his evil Foot Clan have an iron grip on everything from the police to the politicians. The future is grim until four unlikely outcast brothers rise from the sewers and discover their destiny as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - New Character Poster of Leonardo (Aug 2014)

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
When the first trailer was released sometime back, many fans are criticising the "ugly" version of Jonathan Liebesman's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and I can understand why. It just don't have the cuteness that the ninjas used to have.

Recently, Paramount Pictures has released a new character poster featuring Leonardo (leader of the Ninja Turtles and voiced by Johnny Knoxville) and to be frank, it doesn't make it any cuter! ;-)

The reboot of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will be released in the big screens on 8th August 2014 and following is the short synopsis (source : Geektyrant.com) :

Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes - Awesome Final Trailer (Jul 2014)

Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes
In less than one month time, human being will be facing with the fierce apes for the final face-off in Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes.

Fox has since released the final trailer which looks stunning and awesome. There are plenty of new footage (too much for my liking) and we can deduced that there are "villains" in both the human and apes gang.

I like the reboot in 2011, Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes and am looking forward to the sequel, which will be released on 11st July in IMAX 3D.

Following is the short synopsis of the movie (source : GeekTyrant) :

A growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier.  They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth’s dominant species.

Jurassic World - 3 Official Photos (Jun 2015)

Jurassic World
Jurassic World is one of my most anticipated sequel in 2015. No official plot has been disclosed yet except a few official photos being released previously.

Recently, Universal Pictures has released another 3 new official photos, even though no dinosaurs in sight yet but I am sure more will be "akan dating" (coming soon). Directed by Colin Trevorrow (whom brought us "Safety Not Guaranteed" in 2012), starring Chris Pratt, Judy Greer and Bryce Dallas Howard).

Jurassic World will be released on 12th June 2015 and most probably in 3D, if not IMAX 3D.

Ant-Man - The Confirmed Director And Synopsis (Jul 2015)

Ant-man
Marvel has finally confirmed the long rumoured up-coming comic-adaptation, Ant-Man's director and synopsis. The Yes Man director, Peyton Reed will take on the director seat. Even though he is not the first choice (rumoured has it that Edgar Wright and Adam McKay both turned down the project), but still looking forward to it since it will be a brand new super-hero in big screen.

In terms of the casts, Paul Rudd (as the titular role) and Michael Douglas are the confirmed lead. Also, Marvel has disclosed the following official synopsis of Ant-man :

Armed with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, con-man Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) must embrace his inner-hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats. Against seemingly insurmountable obstacles, Pym and Lang must plan and pull off a heist that will save the world.

Ant-man will be released on 17th July 2015 and I believed it will most probably in 3D too.

Hercules 3D
The upcoming second Hercules reboot (after "The Legend Of Hercules" in January 2014) from The Rock (Dwayne Johnson) has been picking up their marketing steam. Recently, Paramount Pictures has released the second trailer and a brand new poster.

From the trailer alone, it seems to be the much better version of reboot. Hercules opens on 25th July 2015 in 3D. Besides The Rock, it also stars Joseph Fiennes, Ian McShane, Rufus Sewell and Ian McShane. Following is the synopsis of the movie (source : GeekTyrant) :

Haunted by a sin from his past, Hercules has become a mercenary. Along with five faithful companions, he travels ancient Greece selling his services for gold and using his legendary reputation to intimidate enemies. But when the benevolent ruler of Thrace and his daughter seek Hercules’ help to defeat a savage and terrifying warlord, Hercules finds that in order for good to triumph and justice to prevail… he must again become the hero he once was… he must embrace his own myth… he must be Hercules.

How To Train Your Dragon 2 - New Featurette (Jun 2014)

How to train your dragon 2
How To Train Your Dragon (2010) is one of my favourite animation and still is, however, it might be overtaken by its sequel, How To Train Your Dragon 2 soon (I deduced from the trailers that I've seen so far).

DreamWorks Animation has recently released a new featurrette called "Dragons and Riders" that further affirm my thought. How To Train Your Dragon 2 will be released on 13th June 2014 in 3D and following is the synopsis (source : GeekTyrant):

How To Train Your Dragon 2 is set five years after the events of the original movie changed everything on the isolated island of Berk. With humans and dragons successfully united, everyone has their own ride, a dragon they’ve connected to. While Astrid (America Ferrera), Snoutlout (Jonah Hill) and the rest of the gang are challenging each other to dragon races (the island's new favorite contact sport), the now inseparable Hiccup (Jay Baruchel) and his own reptile pal Toothless journey through the skies, charting unmapped territories and exploring new worlds.

When one of their adventures leads to the discovery of a secret ice cave that is home to hundreds of new wild dragons and the mysterious Dragon Rider, the two friends find themselves at the centre of a battle to protect the peace. Now, they must unite to stand up for what they believe while recognizing that only together do they have the power to change the future of both men and dragons…
