Five 3D or IMAX Movies To Look Out For In August 2013

July is drawing to an end soon and the only 3D movie left to watch now is The Wolverine (I am planning to watch it over the weekend after my Bald Statement event). So, for 3D and/or IMAX movie fans, what are the upcoming 3D or IMAX movies to look out for in August 2013?

1. The Smurfs 2 (3D - 2nd Aug)
Sequel to the 2011's The Smurf. In fact, it is a trilogy and The Smurfs 3 is slated to be released in 2015. Brief synopsis of The Smurfs 2:

The Smurfs team up with their human friends to rescue Smurfette, who has been kidnapped by Gargamel since she knows a secret spell that can turn the evil sorcerer's newest creation - creatures called the Naughties - into real Smurfs.

This sci-fi about the conflict between the super poor and the super rich was helm by the director that brought us District 9 (Neill Blomkamp). Brief synopsis of Elysium:

Set in the year 2154, where the very wealthy live on a man-made space station while the rest of the population resides on a ruined Earth, a man takes on a mission that could bring equality to the polarized worlds

Sequel to 2010's Percy Jackson & The Lightning Thief. This new instalment continues to tell the story of the mythic adventure by the son of Poseidon, Percy. Lots of monstrous creatures are expected. Brief synopsis of Percy Jackson - Sea Of Monsters:

In order to restore their dying safe haven, the son of Poseidon and his friends embark on a quest to the Sea of Monsters to find the mythical Golden Fleece while trying to stop an ancient evil from rising.

From racing cars to racing planes, this fresh animation from Disney explores the theme of dream through the eyes of transportation vehicles in the sky. Brief synopsis of Planes:

This documentary tell (or show) the story of 5 kids from England/Ireland that rise to fame and formed one of the hottest boy band at the moment, One Direction. Brief synopsis of One Direction - This Is Us:

Niall, Zayn, Liam, Harry and Louis' meteoric rise to fame, from their humble hometown beginnings and competing on the X-Factor, to conquering the world and performing at London's famed O2 Arena.
