SPECIAL NOTE : After two weeks at top, Iron Man 3 finally succumbed to the second place by the newly released Star Trek sequel, Star Trek Into Darkness. The new crown tops the chart with $70.2 millions over the opening weekend, it's at the lower end of the estimates (In comparison, it is slightly lower than the 2009's Star Trek, which tops the chart with $75.2 millions on the opening weekend). However, this sequel performed much stronger in the international markets as compared to its predecessor, so far, it has garnered $165 millions internationally.
