ROBOCOP - The Impressive First Trailer (Feb 2014)

When the outfit of upcoming reboot of Robocop first surfaced online sometime back, lots of negative responses from the fans follow suit. Of course, it doesn't deter the progress of the project and it seems that the film maker might have made a right decision.

Recently, Columbia Pictures released the very first trailer of Robocop and it does look promising (at least better than I expected). Directed by José Padilha and starring Joel Kinnaman , Abbie Cornish, Gary Oldman, Michael Keaton, and Samuel L. Jackson. Following is the synopsis of the film:

In "RoboCop," the year is 2029 and multinational conglomerate OmniCorp is at the center of robot technology. Their drones are winning American wars around the globe and now they want to bring this technology to the home front. Alex Murphy is a loving husband, father and good cop doing his best to stem the tide of crime and corruption in Detroit. After he is critically injured in the line of duty, OmniCorp utilizes their remarkable science of robotics to save Alex’s life. He returns to the streets of his beloved city with amazing new abilities, but with issues a regular man has never had to face before.

Robocop will be released in IMAX on 7th Feb 2014.

GRAVITY - The Heart Stopping New Trailer (October 2013)

Occasionally, we will come across movie teaser or trailer that failed to fade away from our mind and ever since the first glimpse, we are screaming for more details until its release. GRAVITY is one such movie.

So far, rave and positive early reviews were surfaced online and offline, especially from those lucky few who have a chance to saw it first hand. Recently, the Avatar director, James Cameron, shared his opinion about the movie and following is from his own mouth:

"I was stunned, absolutely floored. I think it’s the best space photography ever done, I think it’s the best space film ever done, and it’s the movie I’ve been hungry to see for an awful long time. What is interesting is the human dimension. Alfonso and Sandra working together to create an absolutely seamless portrayal of a woman fighting for her life in zero gravity."

Note: Even though James Cameroon did help out Alfonso Cuaron (director of Gravity) on the film but I am pretty sure that his comment is not far off. By the way, Gravity will be released on 4th Oct 2013 in IMAX 3D.

The LEGO Movie - First Trailer

First, I must first admit that I am not a LEGO fan and I don't see this (LEGO movie) coming in such a big scale. Warner Bros has just released the frist Movie Poster and Trailer for this upcoming Avenger-like lego movie. Yes, you hear me right, everything and all thing will be in LEGO.

I am sure LEGO fans (big or small) will find it interesting and rush to see it in big screen (and probably in 3D too). But personally, I don't see myself paying to see this in cinema ;-)

Short synopsis of The LEGO movie:

An ordinary LEGO minifigure, mistakenly thought to be the extraordinary MasterBuilder, is recruited to join a quest to stop an evil LEGO tyrant from gluing the universe together

By the way, the movie will be voiced by huge casts like Morgan Freeman, Lian Neeson and Will Ferrell.  It will be in cinemas near you in Feb 2014.

Now, enjoy the movie poster and the very first trailer (the batman part is quite funny actually):

Man Of Steel - All You Need To Know in 4 Teasers/Trailers And 10 TV Spots

As most of you would know by now that Man Of Steel is Superman and Superman is the Man Of Steel, the upcoming super hero reboot.  Before you rushing to the cinema near you in June 2013 to witness the soon-to-be epic in 2D, 3D or IMAX 3D, Warner Bros has been pampering the fans with numerous trailers, teasers and TV Spots. That's the whole objective of this post.

By the way, one particularly interesting discovery from the trailers/TV spots is that the "S" icon on the superman's suit is not an S, it is actually...Shhhhhh...(sorry, we have no clue at the moment as well, I guess you will need to find it out yourself in June 2013 ;-)),

Short synopsis of Man Of Steel (source: GeekTyrant):

In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time. Shaped by the values of his adoptive parents Martha (Diane Lane) and Jonathan Kent (Kevin Costner), Clark discovers having extraordinary abilities means making difficult decisions. When the world is in dire need of stability, an even greater threat emerges. Clark must become a Man of Steel, to protect the people he loves and shine as the world’s beacon of hope – Superman.

Now, enjoy the trailers/teasers and TV spots of Man Of Steel below.

The Wolverine - The Insanely Good Trailer

The Wolverine, a spin off from the X-men franchise is also a sequel to the 2009's X-Men Origins : Wolverine. Hugh Jackman again reprises the titular role (I personally view that Hugh Jackman fit into this superhero with animal-keen senses, enhanced physical capabilities and super healing power, perfectly. What do you think?).

Directed by James Mangold and stars, Hugh Jackman, Will Yun Lee, Svetlana Khodchenkova, Hiroyuki Sanada, and Brian Tee. It hits theatres on 26th July 2013.

Short Synopsis of The Wolverine (source; GeekTyrant.com):

This epic action-adventure takes Wolverine, the most iconic character of the X-Men universe, to modern day Japan. Out of his depth in an unknown world he faces his ultimate nemesis in a life-or-death battle that will leave him forever changed. Vulnerable for the first time and pushed to his physical and emotional limits, he confronts not only lethal samurai steel but also his inner struggle against his own immortality, emerging more powerful than we have ever seen him before.

Apart from the upcoming must watch super hero blockbuster, Iron Man 3, which will be released in late Apr or early May 2013 (depending on which country are you at), the other two superhero sequels that all eyes are fixing on are Man Of Steel (technically a reboot) and Thor - The Dark World.

Star Trek Into Darkness - Latest Teaser Trailer [May 2013]

Coming May 2013, you will be spoiled of choices of blockbuster movies in the theatre near you. Besides the Iron Man 3, the other big budget blockbuster sequel that I am waiting for is Star Trek Into Darkness.

Yesterday, Paramount Pictures has released the new action-packed teaser trailer for J.J. Abrams' Star Trek Into Darkness. Frankly, prior to the reboot of the 2009 Star Trek, I am only a Star Wars fan and now, I am both! ;-)

The new teaser trailer definitely up the ante of my likeness towards Star Trek franchise. Star Trek Into Darkness will be released on 17th May 2013 and the IMAX 3D format will be released 2 days earlier on 15th May 2013.

Short synopsis of Star Trek Into Darkness (source: GeekTyrant):

In defiance of regulations and with a personal score to settle, Captain Kirk leads his crew on a manhunt to capture an unstoppable force of destruction and bring those responsible to justice. As our heroes are propelled into an epic chess game of life and death, love will be challenged, friendships will be torn apart, and sacrifices must be made for the only family Kirk has left: his crew.

Latest Trailer - Iron Man 3 and After Earth

This week, we are being treated with two awesome trailers. One is for the superhero sequel, Iron Man 3 (Robert Downey Jr) and the other is a fresh Sci-fi from M. Night Shyamalan, After Earth (Will Smith).

I guess there is no need for me to introduce Iron Man franchise any further except that I am looking forward to see how badass will Sir Ben Kingsley be in portraying The Mandarin (the villain). For my earlier coverage of Iron Man 3, click here. It will be released in 2D, 3D and IMAX on 3rd May 2013 (USA).

As for the After Earth, the father-and-son team (Will Smith and Jaden Smith) once again collaborated in the big screen (after the "The Pursuit Of Happyness"). For my earlier coverage of After Earth, click here. It will be released on 7th Jun 2013 in IMAX (USA). The trailer looks cool and it reminded me of another upcoming Sci-fi by Tom Cruise, Oblivion.

Epic - Latest Trailer

EPIC, the upcoming 3D animation from Blue Sky has just released a new full length trailer with more new footage. From the creators of Ice Age and Rio, this adventurous and fun looking movie will sure to appeal to the kids and parents. Not too sure about the single adults though.

EPIC features an all star cast of voices that includes Beyonce Knowles (as Queen Tara), Colin Farrell (as Ronin), Josh Hutcherson (as Nod), Amanda Seyfried (as Mary Katherine) and Johnny Knoxville (as Mandrake). Short synopsis of Epic (source GeekTyrant):

When a teen age girl finds herself magically transported into this secret universe, she must band together with a rag-tag team of fun and whimsical characters in order to save their world...and ours."

Will this be a true epic? Hmmm... It's too early to gauge as the movie will only be in theatres near you in May 2013. Now, enjoy the latest trailer and some of the movie posters released previously...
