Weekly Box Office Movies in US (Ending 2013/10/20)

gravity
Here are the TOP 5 Movies from US for the week ending 20th Oct 2013 (Sun).

Wow! This week's box office result might be something that even the film distributor for Gravity didn't expect. Gravity is having the strongest holding power in its third week, by only dropping 28% from previous week. That explains why it tops the chart for the third time with $31 millions. It look set to become one of the most successful non-holiday film.

Captain Phillips (Tom Hanks) did pretty well on its second week as well at second spot. Same thing cannot be said for the other 3 new releases though. The horror remake, Carrie  (Chloë Grace Moretz) managed to stay at third spot only with under-performing figure of $17 millions. The Escape Plan (action thriller from Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger) did poorer with mere $9.8 millions. The worst release is The Fifth Estate (Benedict Cumberbatch) making miserable $1.7 millions on its first week (not in the top five movies).

Now, enjoy the chart...
