Underworld Awakening (Jan 2012)

After the success of "Twilight Saga - Breaking Dawn (Part 1)", let's look at a movie with more serious and intense fights between the werewolf and vampire. And this time round, the center of attraction is no longer about the love affair between the human, werewolf and vampire but rather the war between the races.

Yes, I am referring to the forthcoming 3rd sequel of another humankind vs werewolf vs vampire flick - "Underworld Awakening". Kate Beckinsale reprises the main role, Selena, the vampire warrior who lead the fight against werewolf and humankind.

Just to recap, following are the previous movies under this successful franchise, you may want to consider doing some refreshment to keep yourselves up to speed for the latest assault from Selena:

Underworld (2003)

Underworld: Evolution (2006)

Underworld: Rise Of The Lycons (2009)

Do you notice that the gap of each sequel is exactly 3 years? Not sure whether it's pure coincident or simply great planning and scheduling?

Enjoy the sharing...

  1. Overall, I was very impressed with Underworld Awakening. I was a little skeptical at first being that this is the 4th in the Underworld film series and, well, as we all know, sequels can be terrible the majority of the time. I am a big fan of the Underworld series and this does not disappoint any fan of the series. I was fortunate enough to see the film in the theater and I was also fortunate to see it in it's intended format of 3D using the ultra modern 3D filming techniques, which add's incredible depth and perspective to the movie. In it's intended format, it really envelopes you in the movie experience. You almost feel as if you are there, and that's no exaggeration, it was simply incredible the way this movie was filmed. I wish all the Underworld movies had been filmed this way, unfortunately, the technology was not available when the first films in the series were made. Kate Beckinsale is, as always, fantastic in her portrayal as Selene. I have always been a fan of Stephen Rea, who is one of the best actors on this planet, period! He gives a good performance in this movie as a mad doctor obsessed with getting rid of the Vamps and increasing the Lycan's abilities in the new modern era. India Eisley also gives a good performance as "Eve", the love child of Michael and Selene. This movie has a LOT of action in it, more than the previous films in my opinion. I like the first film in the Underworld films the best, no question, but this film is good and most people should enjoy it, especially any fan of the series.
