Khumba - The Lesser Known 3D Animation That Kids Will Love

I bet most of you have not heard of the upcoming 3D animation movie about a half-striped zebra called, Khumba. Have you?

It as actually one of the selected film in TIFF 2013 (Toronto International Film Festival). Directed by lesser known Anthony Silverston and voiced by Jake T. Austin, AnnaSophia Robb, Steve Buscemi and Liam Neeson (yes, no typo here).

I believed the film will be in limited release but basing on the only trailer released so far, it actually seems like quite fun and will appeal to kids (like in the case of Ice Age films). Before watching the trailer and movie stills, check out the synopsis below (source : imdb.com) :

A half-striped zebra is born into an insular, isolated herd obsessed with stripes. Rumors that the strange foal is cursed spread and, before long, he is blamed for the drought that sets into the Great Karoo. When even his father, the leader of the herd, blames him for the lack of rain and the subsequent death of his mother, the outcast zebra leaves the confines of his home knowing that he cannot survive in the herd without all his stripes.

[News] Sneak Peek Of The Avatar Land at Disneyland

Still remember the Pandora Planet from the monster hit 3D film, Avatar? Soon (ok, not that soon, in a couple of years' time), you can step into the Pandora world and immerse yourself in this beautiful land full of mythical yet beautiful creatures. Just wonder do we need to turn blue to get inside? ;-)

This upcoming Avatar Land will bring the Pandora to life at Disney's Animal Kingdom. Both Avatar's creator James Cameron and Walt Disney's Imagineer Joe Rohde are involved in this monstrous project and it set to wow the audience/fans again and again.

Following is the released statement from DisneyParks along with their promotional sneak peek and concept art:

"From the moment AVATAR was released, people were captivated by the mythical world of Pandora. When we announced that we’d be working with James Cameron and Lightstorm Entertainment to bring this world to life in our parks, we felt certain that this partnership and combination of talent and imagination would produce an experience unlike any other ever created. 

Our combined team has taken huge steps forward in “imagineering” Pandora as a real place for our guests to see, hear and touch. Weekly Box Office Movies in US (Ending 2013/10/13)

Here are the TOP 5 Movies from US for the week ending 13th Oct 2013 (Sun).

As expected, Gravity retains the top spot on its second week with $44.3 millions. The accumulated sales in US alone already crossed the $100 millions mark and it look set to have a steady run. I've watched the movie in IMAX 3D yesterday and immersed myself in the space with Sandra Bullock and George Clooney. It is very real (in terms of sensing the outer space) and very inspiring. personally I am giving it a 4.5 stars (out of 5 stars).  

As for the other new release, Captain Phillips (Tom Hanks), it is doing quite with at second place with $26 millions. It is based on a true event and once again Tom Hanks is giving another powerful rendition as a "cast away" figure.

The third new release of the week, Machete Kills (a sequel) doing pathetically at fourth place with only $3.8 millions.

Hercules - The Legend Begins : First teaser Trailer And Full-length Trailer (Mar 2014)

If you follow this blog regularly, especially on my post on the upcoming 2 Hercules remakes in 2014. You will know the first Hercules remake (used to be called "Hercules 3D" and now renamed it to "Hercules The Legend Begins") will be in the cinemas near you in Mar 2014.

Two days after the very first teaser trailer was released online, the full-length trailer is follow suit and it is hot from the oven. Even though with a lesser known casts, the trailers do looks promising.

[New] Iron Man Ride Is Coming To Hong Kong Disneyland

I am pretty sure many of you folks have watched the highly popular Iron Man or The Avengers films, in 3 years time (2016), you can get more up-close and personal with him in the form of amusement ride at Hong Kong Disneyland.

 

As per the news, it will send guests flying alongside Iron Man himself, fighting off bad guys throughout the skies and the streets of Hong Kong. Thus, more localised concept is expected. In fact, I like such movie-turned-ride kind of concept, just like the Transformers ride in Universal Studios Singapore. I am looking forward to it.

The Secret Life Of Walter MItty - The Powerful New Trailer (Dec 2013)

Yet another seemingly great and powerful movie on Christmas Day. The movie posters and trailer released so far for The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty is anything but ordinary. Directed and starred by Ben Stiller, it looks very inspirational and imaginative. Also, I think many people can relate to the theme, which is looking at how we live our life. 

"Life is about courage and going into the UNKNOWN!"

Recently, 20th Century Fox released the full-length trailer of The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty and it caught my eyes immediately with the new footage. At this moment, I think the movie might not be in 3D or IMAX format but I just love the trailer (and the soundtrack) and thus can't bring myself not to share it.

47 Ronin - The latest UK Trailer (Dec 2013)

As per the annual custom, comes December, movie fans will be spoilt of choice for many blockbuster movies, one of them is 47 Ronin (the latest Keanu Reeves vehicle).

The latest UK trailer caught my eye even more and I am looking forward to it to watch it in 3D. 47 Ronin will be released on the Christmas Day in 3D. Following is the synopsis of the movie (source : GeekTyrant.com):

The troupe of banished samurai long to restore their honor and find vengeance against the treacherous Lord Kira (played by Asano, who is in theaters now as Hogun in Thor) who was responsible for the death of their master. Kai is the uneasy compatriot in their company and his standing will be questioned even more as he falls in love with Mika (Shibasaki), daughter of the fallen master. The film presents a quest where the ronin (the term for samurai with no master) face trials that test their mettle and their loyalty to one another.

I, Frankenstein - First Trailer (Jan 2014)

Frankenstein is a classic horror and fantasy movie figure and it has been spawn in countless novels, TV series and movies. Next year, there will be a new addition to the list and the upcoming adaptation is called I, Frankenstein. 

Written for the screen and directed by Stuart Beattie (accountable for some major blockbuster movies like Pirates Of The Caribbean Trilogy, G.I. Joe - The Rise Of Cobra etc.)  based on the graphic novel "I, Frankenstein" by Kevin Grevioux (whom brought us the Underworld films). The casts of this fantasy, action movie includes Aaron Eckhart, Bill Nighy, Yvonne Strahovski, Miranda Otto and Jai Courtney.

Recently, Liongates has released the very first trailer of I, Frankenstein and to be frank, it is kind of familiar (vs Underworld). I, Frankenstein will be released in cinemas on 24 Jan 2014 in 3D and IMAX 3D. Following is the short synopsis:

Set in a dystopic present where vigilant gargoyles and ferocious demons rage in a battle for ultimate power, Victor Frankenstein's creation Adam (Aaron Eckhart) finds himself caught in the middle as both sides race to discover the secret to his immortality.

Blogging Is Here To Stay!

To me, blogging is a great channel to share what is inside my mind, especially what I am passionate about and in as creative way as I possibly can.

 

As you can see, I am very passionate about  movies (especially in 3D and IMAX format), hence, this movie blog of mine was born about 2 years ago.

 

As I shared before, besides movies, I also passionate about Internet Marketing and thus created another blog on that niche ( IM Foundation ). Being an hardcore Apple fan, recently I have created yet another blog about iOS apps. It is still at its infancy stage and many improvement are coming its way. Feel free to check it out at your free time.

 

The reason why I share this post is to encourage as many of you folks to try blogging (if you have not already done so). Just to give you a glimpse, there are already 156 millions public blogs since two years ago (2011). So what are you waiting for?
