I, Frankenstein - First Trailer (Jan 2014)

I, Frankenstein - Poster
Frankenstein is a classic horror and fantasy movie figure and it has been spawn in countless novels, TV series and movies. Next year, there will be a new addition to the list and the upcoming adaptation is called I, Frankenstein

Written for the screen and directed by Stuart Beattie (accountable for some major blockbuster movies like Pirates Of The Caribbean Trilogy, G.I. Joe - The Rise Of Cobra etc.)  based on the graphic novel "I, Frankenstein" by Kevin Grevioux (whom brought us the Underworld films). The casts of this fantasy, action movie includes Aaron Eckhart, Bill Nighy, Yvonne Strahovski, Miranda Otto and Jai Courtney.

Recently, Liongates has released the very first trailer of I, Frankenstein and to be frank, it is kind of familiar (vs Underworld). I, Frankenstein will be released in cinemas on 24 Jan 2014 in 3D and IMAX 3D. Following is the short synopsis:

Set in a dystopic present where vigilant gargoyles and ferocious demons rage in a battle for ultimate power, Victor Frankenstein's creation Adam (Aaron Eckhart) finds himself caught in the middle as both sides race to discover the secret to his immortality.

Blogging Is Here To Stay!

To me, blogging is a great channel to share what is inside my mind, especially what I am passionate about and in as creative way as I possibly can.

As you can see, I am very passionate about  movies (especially in 3D and IMAX format), hence, this movie blog of mine was born about 2 years ago.

As I shared before, besides movies, I also passionate about Internet Marketing and thus created another blog on that niche ( IM Foundation ). Being an hardcore Apple fan, recently I have created yet another blog about iOS apps. It is still at its infancy stage and many improvement are coming its way. Feel free to check it out at your free time.

The reason why I share this post is to encourage as many of you folks to try blogging (if you have not already done so). Just to give you a glimpse, there are already 156 millions public blogs since two years ago (2011). So what are you waiting for?

Cheers!

Weekly Box Office Movies in US (Ending 2013/10/06)

gravity
Here are the TOP 5 Movies from US for the week ending 6th Oct 2013 (Sun).

As expected, the space calamity theme sci-fi, Gravity took the centre stage last week and claimed the top spot with a whopping $55.5 millions (a personal best for both main stars of the movie, Sandra Bullock and George Clooney). This is the kind of movie that you need to watch it at least in 3D (IMAX 3D is the best) to really immersed yourself into a whole new level of movie experience. Due to my other commitment, I will catch only next week (in IMAX 3D) and I will share my review here soon.

As for the other new release, Runner Runner (Justin Timberlake and Ben Affleck), it is considered a flop bearing in mind of its casts as it managed to claimed the third place with a mere $7.6 millions.

Ender's Game - New Poster And Recent Trailers (Nov 2013)

Ender's Game
Ender's Game is coming soon in Nov 2013, I've covered quite a fair bit about this upcoming sci-fi adaptation from the Orson Scott Card's best seller novel with the same name. However, as long as there is any subsequent release, it is my duty to share it out here, again and again! ;-)

Synopsis of the movie:

In the near future, a hostile alien race (called the Formics) have attacked Earth. If not for the legendary heroics of International Fleet Commander, Mazer Rackham (Ben Kingsley), all would have been lost. In preparation for the next attack, the highly esteemed Colonel Graff (Harrison Ford) and the International Military are training only the best young children to find the future Mazer. Ender Wiggin (Asa Butterfield), a shy, but strategically brilliant boy is pulled out of his school to join the elite.

Arriving at Battle School, Ender quickly and easily masters increasingly difficult war games, distinguishing himself and winning respect amongst his peers. Ender is soon ordained by Graff as the military’s next great hope, resulting in his promotion to Command School. Once there, he’s trained by Mazer Rackham, himself, to lead his fellow soldiers into an epic battle that will determine the future of Earth and save the human race.

Recently, Summit Entertainment released a number of new posters and trailers (since my last post). Hence this post. Keep reading for the new posters/trailers.

[News] The fourth Chronicles Of Narnia Is A Confirmed Project Now

The Chronicles Of Narnia - The Silver Chair
Are you a fan of The Chronicles Of Narnia novel or movie adaptation trilogy? If yes, good news for you as the fourth installment is a confirmed project now. If no, well, I guess no harm learning more on what's coming up in the movie scene.

In fact, the movie title is also already confirmed and it is called The Chronicles Of Narnia: The Silver Chair. Just to recap, the previous trilogy are The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe (2005), Prince Caspian (2008) and The Chronicles Of Narnia: The Voyage Of The Dawn Treader (2010), .

Producer of the upcoming film, Douglas Gresham said in a statement:

“I have a great deal of respect for Mark Gordon’s work and am confident that together we can bring the beauty and magical delight that Narnia engenders in the hearts of those who read the books to the screen in ‘The Silver Chair”, Gresham said. “I am very much looking forward to diving once more into Narnia, this time with Mark Gordon and his team.”

Gordon went on to say that :

“Like many readers, both young and old, I am a huge fan of C.S. Lewis’s beautiful and allegorical world of Narnia. These fantasy stories inspire real-world passion among millions of devoted fans around the world. As we prepare to bring the next book to life, we are humbled and excited to contribute to the outstanding legacy of Narnia.”

The casts have not been finalised yet but I hope it will be a solid adaptation.

By the way, following is the brief extract from The Silver Chair:

Narnia ... where giants wreak havoc ... where evil weaves a spell ... where enchantment rules.

Through dangers untold and caverns deep and dark, a noble band of friends are sent to rescue a prince held captive. But their mission to Underland brings them face-to-face with an evil more beautiful and more deadly than they ever expected.

Firestorm (风暴) - First 3D Police Film From Hong Kong (Dec 2013)

Firestorm (风暴)
Andy Lau (刘德华) is the teenage heartthrob in Asia for many years (from TV drama, to singing and acting). Currently, he is focusing more on the movie. After his last successful action thriller Blind Detective (盲探) [2013], he is producing and acting in the upcoming very first 3D Police movie, Firestorm (风暴). The movie is coming in December 2013.

Synopsis of Firestorm (source: wikipedia):

A crew of seasoned criminals led by the notorious Cho Nam (Hu Jun), armed with high-powered weapons, pulls off another smooth and violent armoured car heist in broad daylight in a crowded street. Whoever tries to get in their way, they will show no mercy. This puts the police force to shame and humiliation.

A hard boiled senior police inspector Lui Ming Chit (Andy Lau), hot on the trails of Nam and his tight crew, determines to put an end to this madness that causes the lives of innocent people. But he soon comes face with the cruel reality that the usual police tactics are too futile to send these armed thieves behind bars. Extreme crime requires extreme justice, even if it means crossing his moral line. To Sing Pong (Gordon Lam), an ex-con desperate to leave his criminal past behind, volunteers to be Lui’s informant in exchange for a fresh start with her girlfriend Yin Bing (Yao Chen). But little does he know what hellish situation he is getting himself into.

While Nam is putting together his next big score, the two colliding forces from both sides of the law, each at the top of their games, will soon face their archenemies. As Lui’s hunt heats up, their ultimate confrontation is about to take place on the streets.

As the storm passes through and the dust settles, whoever survives can hardly cope with its horrifying aftermath.

Frozen - The Much Better Full Length Trailer (Nov 2013)

Frozen animation
To be frank, when I first saw the poster and teaser trailer of the upcoming animation Frozen, it didn't strike as a blockbuster animation that gonna make it big (in the same light as Kungfu Panda or Shrek).

However, with the recently released full-length trailer, my opinion is slightly tilted to the positive side (which is a good news). From the creators of Tangled and Wreck-It Ralph, I have high hope for this to be entertaining as from the trailer, I can safely said that my hope is pretty much alive.

Frozen will be released on 27th Nov 2013 in 3D and following is the synopsis of Frozen:

When a prophecy traps a kingdom in eternal winter, Anna ( Bell), a fearless optimist, teams up with extreme mountain man Kristoff (Groff) and his sidekick reindeer Sven on an epic journey to find Anna's sister Elsa (Idina Menzel), the Snow Queen, and put an end to her icy spell. Encountering mystical trolls, an amazing and comedic snowman named Olaf, Everest-like conditions and magic at every turn, Anna and Kristoff battle the elements in a race to save the kingdom from destruction.
