Ender's Game - Movie Review

My friend, Ben is here once again to provide his frank movie review. This time round, he is reviewing the Ender's Game (movie adaptation from Orson Scott Card's novel with the same title).

There is no spoiler in the movie review. In fact, this is one of the most spoiler-less movie review that I've ever seen.

Now, enjoy his review below:

Imagine going for multi courses dinner, the starters were good, so was the following salads and soups, main course packed a punch and even the supposing surprise dessert was within expectation but still well done. Now came the closing coffee, Oh My, that's the worst tasting cup of coffee. While the coffee shouldn't overshadow the previous dishes, it left a bad aftertaste of the whole meal.

That's was how I felt about Ender's Game. The first 95% was done quite well, but the after war 5% was simply horrendous, which nearly tanked the whole movie. The "WTF" moments kept coming, and those were bad WTF.

Don't get me wrong, I actually like Ender's Game, for anything else, it explained that one point in all those "The One heading for training and will save everyone" stories - why did all the seniors and instructors kept elevating the status of The One. They should have known that by doing will lead to downright resentment from the entire school. Take a look at Harry Potter and Percy Jackson or the likes, if that happened in real life, the lead protagonist would have been bullied to death in the school. 

So for that, i will give this 4 our of 5 stars. Even though I found the pace on fast forward all the time, and would really benefit if they split into 2 or more movies.

Ender's Game - New Poster And Recent Trailers (Nov 2013)

Ender's Game is coming soon in Nov 2013, I've covered quite a fair bit about this upcoming sci-fi adaptation from the Orson Scott Card's best seller novel with the same name. However, as long as there is any subsequent release, it is my duty to share it out here, again and again! ;-)

Synopsis of the movie:

In the near future, a hostile alien race (called the Formics) have attacked Earth. If not for the legendary heroics of International Fleet Commander, Mazer Rackham (Ben Kingsley), all would have been lost. In preparation for the next attack, the highly esteemed Colonel Graff (Harrison Ford) and the International Military are training only the best young children to find the future Mazer. Ender Wiggin (Asa Butterfield), a shy, but strategically brilliant boy is pulled out of his school to join the elite.

Arriving at Battle School, Ender quickly and easily masters increasingly difficult war games, distinguishing himself and winning respect amongst his peers. Ender is soon ordained by Graff as the military’s next great hope, resulting in his promotion to Command School. Once there, he’s trained by Mazer Rackham, himself, to lead his fellow soldiers into an epic battle that will determine the future of Earth and save the human race.

Ender's Game - Latest International Banner (Nov 2013)

Ender's Game, adaptation from the popular sci-fi novel of the same name (1985) by author, Orson Scott Card will be in cinemas in November 2013. Those of you who have read the novel will know that the main actor is a kid, but with A-list supporting actors like Harrison Ford and Ben Kingsley, I have a good feeling that it will be an entertaining movie.

The Earth was ravaged twice by the Buggers, an alien race seemingly determined to destroy humanity. Seventy years later, the people of Earth remain banded together to prevent their own annihilation from this technologically superior alien species. Two New Posters From Upcoming Sci-Fi

Today, I am going to share two new international posters from two of the upcoming sci-fi, The Ender's Game and Snowpiercer.

 

Ender's Game is an adaptation of Orson Scott Card's 1985 novel starring Asa Butterfield, Harrison Ford, Sir Ben Kinglsey and Abigail Breslin. It will hit theaters on 1st November 2013 in IMAX.  Following is the synopsis of the movie:

Snowpiercer is based on the French graphic novel Le Transperceneige and directed by South Korea's famous director, Bong Joon Ho and starring Chris Evans, Tilda Swindon and Song Kang Ho. Following is the synopsis of the movie (release date has not been finalised):

After a failed experiment to stop global warming, an Ice Age kills off all life on the planet except for the inhabitants of the Snowpiercer, a train that travels around the globe and is powered by a sacred perpetual-motion engine. A class system evolves on the train but a revolution brews

Ender's Game - First Visually Stunning Trailer [IMAX - Nov 2013]

Ender's Game is a popular Sci-fi written by American author, Orson Scott Catt. Finally it is adapted into a motion picture with promising casts like Harrison Ford, Ben Kingsley ("Mandarin" from Iron Man 3) and Asa Butterfield (from "Hugo" fame). I must admit that I've not read the book but from the view of the first trailer, it is a true hardcore Science fiction.
