Amazing New Costume For The Amazing Spiderman 2

The sequel to the Spiderman reboot, The Amazing Spiderman 2 will not be in theatre until next year. However, the director, Marc Webb has successfully created a buzz among the fans by releasing a costume teaser of how would upcoming Spiderman looks like.

The latest Spiderman costume is relatively different from the earlier one, be it the colour or the texture. One of the most noticeable difference is actually on the eye. The new costume carries a bigger and white eye (as oppose to the smaller and black eye in the earlier version).

Many fans are giving rave and positive comment on the new costume and cited that it is closer to the costume in the original comic series. What do you think? Do you like the new costume better or the old man? (I have included the poster of existing costume in The Amazing Spiderman as well for easier comparison)

By the way, The Amazing Spiderman 2 will be released in US on 2rd May 2014. I am looking forward to it especially seeing how Jamie Foxx reprise the role of Electro (the villain).

Monsters University - New Trailer and Poster

After 12 years, the much anticipated prequel to the 2001 hit animation, Monsters Inc is finally here, almost! The good news is both John Goodman and Billy Crystal are returned to reprise their respective role of Sully and Mike. 

I enjoyed the Monsters Inc. a lot and hope the this long overdue prequel managed to bring back the fond memory of the time times! Monsters University will be released in 3D on 21st June 2013. 

Brief synopsis of Monsters University (source imdb.com):

"A look at the relationship between Mike and Sulley during their days at the University of Fear - when they weren't necessarily the best of friends."

Meanwhile, Disney has released a new international poster and the full-length international trailer.

Weekly Box Office Movies in US (Ending 2013/02/24)

Here are the TOP 5 Movies from US for the week ending 24th February 2013 (Sun).

SPECIAL NOTE : WOW! What a surprise comeback for the sleeper hit, Identity Thief (Comedy by Jason Bateman and Melissa McCarthy)! It returns to the top spot for the second time. As for the previous week's top movie, A Good Day To Die Hard dropped to the fifth place with less than convincing word of mouth/critics.  

The other new release, Dark Skies (an horror/sci-fi movie by Keri Russell and Jake Brennan) managed to claim the 6th place with $8.19 millions.

The Oscars 2013 Winners And How I Did With My Prediction

The Oscars 2013 Winners have just been announced a couple of hours ago. Are you surprise with the results? Being a Chinese myself (even though I am not from Taiwan), the most touching moment is when the Best Director Winner, Lee Ang, is being announced. He thanks practically everyone involved in the film, especially those from Taiwan. And oh, he thanks "Movie God" too! ;-) 

Life Of Pi is his masterpiece with great visual awesomeness and high spiritual value.

Star Wars Family Tree

As you may already know, the 7th episode of Star Wars is in the pipeline and the confirmed director is J J Abrams. J J Abrams has brought us many great blockbuster movies like M-I-3, Super 8 and Star Strek reboot (including the upcoming sequel, Star Trek Into Darkness). Oscars 2013 Is Almost Here, What Is Your Prediction?

The 85th Annual Academy Awards (aka Oscars 2013) will be held on this coming Sunday, 24th Feb 2013 at 8.30 PM ET (5:30 PM PT). This year, the host will be the funny guy, Seth McFarlane. Remember Family Guy (animation series)? Ted (blockbuster movie)? That's the guy...behind them.

With his motorised mouth and great sense of humour, I hope he will live-up to the great expectation. Will you be catching him live on TV?

Weekly Box Office Movies in US (Ending 2013/02/17)

Here are the TOP 5 Movies from US for the week ending 17th February 2013 (Sun).

SPECIAL NOTE : As expected A Good Day To Die Hard (the fifth installments of the Die Hard franchise) shoot up to the top spot but not without a tight fight with Identify Thief. Even though A Good Day To Die Hard tops the chart but the sales is not much higher than the early estimate. The other 2 smaller releases, Safe Haven and Escape From The Planet Earth (3D) doing relatively well at third and forth places. 

Beautiful Creature flopped at 6th place with merely $7.58 millions. Hope that the international market is able to boost the sales for the movie.

Latest Posters : Star Trek Into Darkness (Motion Poster) And Iron Man 3

Star Trek Into Darkness jump onto the Bandwagon of the motion poster and produce a stunning and audible motion poster (so, do turn on your audio when viewing). This Star Trek sequel by J.J. Abrams will be released in IMAX 3D on 17th May 2013 (in US).

As for Iron Man 3, as expected, since their release of the Character Poster of Don Cheadle last week, here comes the next episode of Character Poster and this time round, it is non other than the cool looking Guy Pearce. Iron Man 3 will be released in 3D on 3rd May 2013 (in US).

Why Is Die Hard So Hard To Die? [Infographic]

Bruce Willis' 5th installment of Die Hard franchise, A Good Day To Die Hard [IMAX] was released internationally last week and it tops the weekend Box Office Chart in US (expectedly). The question is: Why is Die Hard or specifically Bruce Willis can continue to entertain the audience (especially US audience) throughout the 25 years span (the first Die Hard movie was released in 1988). In short, why is Die Hard so hard to die?

New Posters - Iron Man 3 And Jurassic Park 3D

Hot from oven!

Today, I am going to share 2 new movie posters from the upcoming 3D movies, one sequel and one re-mastered (for 3D release). First, the Jurassic Park 3D (scheduled to be released on 5th April 2013 in US) and the other is the long awaited Iron Man sequel, Iron Man 3 (scheduled to be released on 3rd May 2013 in US).

To mark the 10th years anniversary of its release, the hugely popular Jurassic Park will be re-released into IMAX 3D format. It has been 10 years and it is about time to re-experience the world envisioned by the great director, Steven Spielberg.

As for Iron Man 3, the focus of the new character poster is on Don Cheadle as James Rhodes. I am pretty sure that this is only the first of many character posters to be released soon. For more movie details, check out my earlier coverage here.

Oblivion - The Awesome New Poster and Trailer

Tom Cruise fans can start to screaaaam now! 

His upcoming original sci-fi movie, Oblivion has just up the ante by releasing a brand new awesome movie poster and trailer. You can never get enough of Tom Cruise from that kind of cool look!

From Director, Joseph Kosinski whom brought us the reboot of TRON- Legacy (2010), this second movie of his looks set to be one of the biggest blockbuster of the year. Short synopsis of Oblivion (source: GeekTryant):

On a spectacular future Earth that has evolved beyond recognition, one man’s confrontation with the past will lead him on a journey of redemption and discovery as he battles to save mankind.

Latest Promo Photo of Man Of Steel

Man Of Steel, the upcoming reboot of the Superman franchise will hit the theaters in June 2013. There are still 4 more months or so to go but has garnered many positive response through the trailers and cool movie posters. Of course, expectation is also higher since it was produced by Christopher Nolan, whom last brought us the mesmerising The Dark Knight Rises.

Here are the TOP 5 Movies from US for the week ending 10th February 2013 (Sun).

SPECIAL NOTE : One of this week's new release, Identity Thief (Jason Bateman and Melissa McCarthy, from the director of Horrible Bosses) surprises the market by topping the chart with impressive $34.6 mil. 

The other new release, Side Effects (Jude Law, Rooney Mara and Channing Tatum) was debuted disappointingly at 3rd place with poor $9.3 millions (bearing in mind the numbers of A list casts in the movie). This could be one of the worst debut by Sylvester.  

Oz The Great And Powerful - Motion Poster

Sam Raimi's Oz The Great And Powerful will hit the cinema only on 8th Mar 2013 in US. Meanwhile, there are many promotional trailers, teasers, movie and character posters being released.

Here are the TOP 5 Movies from US for the week ending 3rd February 2013 (Sun).

SPECIAL NOTE : One of this week's new release, Warm Bodies (Nicholas Hoult and Teresa Palmer) tops the chart. It just mean that zombies or walking dead is here to stay and not to be ignored in the big screen!

The other new release, Bullet To The Head (Sylvester Stallone) was debuted disappointingly at 6th place with merely $4.55 millions. This could be one of the worst debut by Sylvester.

[News] Upcoming Movies News And Rumours

Time just zoom past like the Speed Racer, January is behind us now and we are at the second month of the year. This year, I planned to spice up the blog by introducing a few regular topics and one of the immediate topic that I have in mind is the breaking news and rumours post. Of course, the focus will be given to the upcoming 3D and IMAX movies. Of course, occasionally I will also cover non-3D movies as long as they are deemed share-worthy!

I will be sharing up-to-date development of those upcoming movies which are still in pre-production or filming in-progress stage. So, stay tune for more updates coming your way. Super Bowl Game has just ended and most of the fans would have witness the amazing trailers/teasers extravagance being released hot and fresh during the game.

12 Upcoming 3D Movies (Till June 2013)

January has just past and we are left with 11 months to go to catch the movies. In any case, beginning of the year is usually the lull period and thus not many big budget blockbusters will be released during this period.

So far, there are only two 3D movies released in January i.e. Texas Chainsaw (3D) and Hansel and Gretel - Witch Hunters.  

While waiting for the bigger blockbusters to be released during the summer period, I thought it is a good idea to share the upcoming 3D Movies from February till June 2013 so that you can make a better decision on which movies to watch in 3D or even IMAX 3D.
