Transformers Age Of Extinction - The Viral Site Making The Buzz

Transformers Age Of Extinction
Viral marketing is popular among the blockbusters, the latest blockbuster that adopting this approach is non other than Transformers - Age Of Extinction and rightly so! The site is called Transformers Are Dangerous,

As the name implied, it is meant to create a sense of fear among the audience towards transformers. It also means that human beings will continue to be the real "enemy" of Transformers in the upcoming sequel, Transformers - Age Of Extinction.

For my earlier coverage on the movie, check it out here :

Following are some posters from the viral site:

Godzilla - Strike Zone : The Official Mobile Game

Godzilla Strike Zone
While most of us will be happy that Gareth Edwards will continue to direct two more Godzilla movies (click here for details), it is not too much to ask if we can see more of Godzilla (or hear his roar) every now and then.

Your wish is granted! Warner Bros. has recently released their tie0in mobile game, Godzilla Strike Zone in both iOS and Android. If you would like to experience the halo jump (which is one of the most memorable scene from the movie), do check it out and have fun.

I am happy that the game retain the original soundtrack and the classic roaring effect of Godzilla.

Gareth Edwards Will Direct Two More Godzilla Movies PLUS A Star Wars Spinoff

Godzilla 2014
With the monster hit of Godzilla, both in critics and box office (which has garnered more than $300 millions world wide on its second week), sequel is more or less a confirmed project. The good news is, Gareth Edwards will continue to helm the directorship for another two Godzilla movies.

Not only that, he will be also directing a spin-off movie from Star Wars (from Lucas Film). I am pretty excited about the news and I personally quite like Godzilla and hope that he can outdo himself in his next projects.

Official title of Batman vs Superman : Dawn of Justice (May 2016)

Batman vs Superman Dawn of Justice
It is official! The movie of the sequel of Man Of Steel is :

Batman vs Superman : Dawn Of Justice

Also, Warner Bros has released the official logo of the film (on the left). With such a name, we can more or less conclude that it will be a prelude to the Justice League movie franchise. I think Marvel's will pay close attention to the development of this project as it is head to head competition to their successful Avengers franchise.

No official plot details has been shared yet but we already know that  Batman (Ben Affleck), Superman (Henry Cavill), Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), and Cyborg (Ray Fisher) will in part of the project.

Personally, I quite like the movie title, what about you?

Cheers!

Guardians Of The Galaxy - Second Trailer Which is AWESOME (August 2014)

Guardians Of The Galaxy
To be frank, when I first chanced upon the teaser trailer and first trailer of Guardians Of The Galaxy, I don't really find it interesting and it strikes me as a B grade movie. it could be me or just experiencing the super-hero fatigue. However, when I saw this newly launched second trailer, it does give me a WOW factor! So, I am changing my mind now ;-)

Directed by James Gunn and starring big names like Chris Patt, Bradley Cooper, Lee Pace, Vin Diesel and Zoe Saldana. Guardians Of The Galaxy will be released in cinemas near you on 1st August 2013 in 3D and IMAX 3D.

Transformers Age Of Extinction - Second Exciting Trailer (June 2014)

Transformers Age Of Extinction
Last month, Paramount Pictures released the very first trailer of the upcoming Transformers sequel, Age Of Extinction (by Michael Bay) and it doesn't really give me a wow reaction (click here to view the first trailer).

Recently, the second full-length trailer has surfaced online and I must say that this one looks much better than the earlier one.

Transformers - Age Of Extinction will be released on 27th June 2014 in 3D and IMAX 3D. Following is the synopsis (source : GeekTyrant.com) :

The film begins after an epic battle that left a great city torn, but with the world saved. Edge Of Tomorrow - 5 Cool Featurettes (June 2014)

Edge of Tomorrow
Edge Of Tomorrow, the upcoming sci-fi from Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt (by the way, I am a fan of the latter) looks set to be the coolest original sci-fi for the year and I can't wait for it.

After releasing a few sets of character posters not long ago (click here to view), Universal Pictures has just released 5 cool featurrettes that will blow your mind away (if it has not successfully done so through the earlier trailers).

Edge Of Tomorrow will be released on 5th June 2014 in 3D and IMAX 3D. Short synopsis of the film (source imdb.com) :

A soldier fighting in a war with aliens finds himself caught in a time loop of his last day in the battle, though he becomes better skilled along the way.

Sneak Peek : Batsuit and Batmobile from Batman vs Superman (May 2016)

It is still two more years to go before we get to see the Man Of Steel sequel, Batman vs Superman. However, Zack Snyder (director of both movies) can't wait to share the sneak peak of the much talked (or rather criticised) about Ben Affleck's Batman.

Finally, here is the first look of Ben Affleck's Batsuit and Batmobile. Personally, I think Batman is kind of like put on weight (instead of muscle) in that new suit. What do you think?

Anyway, hope this is only the first cut and more refinement coming its way.

Batman vs Superman will hit the big screens on 6th May 2016, most likely in 3D and IMAX 3D too.

Cheers!

Maleficent - Final Trailer and Featurette (May 2014)

Maleficent
After my sharing of 5 character posters yesterday, here comes the latest and final trailer of MALEFICENT. Through these new media, it seems that there are much more unique monsters/creatures than I originally expected and hence, maybe it is worth the 3D premium.

Synopsis of Maleficent (source Flickeringmyth.com):

The untold story of Disney’s most iconic villain from the 1959 classic “Sleeping Beauty.” A beautiful, pure-hearted young woman, Maleficent has an idyllic life growing up in a peaceable forest kingdom, until one day when an invading army threatens the harmony of the land. Maleficent rises to be the land’s fiercest protector, but she ultimately suffers a ruthless betrayal—an act that begins to turn her pure heart to stone.

Bent on revenge, Maleficent faces an epic battle with the invading king’s successor and, as a result, places a curse upon his newborn infant Aurora. As the child grows, Maleficent realises that Aurora holds the key to peace in the kingdom—and perhaps to Maleficent’s true happiness as well.

Maleficent will be released on 30th May 2014 in 3D. Now, enjoy the trailer/featurette below:

Maleficent - 5 New Character Posters (May 2014)

Maleficent character poster
Maleficent, the upcoming fairy-tale adaptation from Angelina Jolie has hyped up its marketing effort with trailers and featurettes (click here to see the latest featurette).

Walt Disney has just step up their marketing effort once again with the following five character posters, which I thought were nicely done up. Maleficent will be released in 3D and IMAX 3D on 30th May 2014. Following is its synopsis (source : Flickeringmyth.com) :

Rumored Subtitle of Star Wars VII - The Ancient Fear

While the casts for the upcoming reboot of Star Wars franchise, Star Wars VII has been confirmed (the "oldies" like Harrison Ford, Mark Hamil, Carrie Fisher and Peter Mayhew etc.. will meet the "new forces" like Domhnall Gleeson, Daisy Ridley, Oscar Isaac and Adam Driver etc..).

MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU (I meant J. J. Abrams, the director).

After the casts, the next thing that comes to our mind is what would the next instalment of Star Wars called? Basing on some insider news, the working title is called THE ANCIENT FEAR.

Personally, don't really like the subtitle as it doesn't give me a sense of Star Wars like. What do you think? In any case, this is only the working title and it can be changed anytime.

Keep reading to find out all the previous subtitles in the Star Wars franchise.

Dawn of The Planet Of The Apes - Viral Videos On The Deterioration of The Cities (Jul 2014)

Directed by Matt Reeves (whom last brought us Let Me It and Cloverfield), starring Andy Serkis, Gary Oldman and Keri Russell. The movie will be released on 11st July 2014 in 3D.

Before checking out the viral videos, take a look on the short synopsis below (source : imdb.com) :

A growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. Edge Of Tomorrow - New Character Posters And Banner Poster (June 2014)

Edge Of Tomorrow Poster
Being a movie buff, I watch all kind of movie but Sci-fi and action genres have special place in my heart. Hence, I am pretty much looking forward to the upcoming Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt's vehicle, Edge of Tomorrow.

What makes Edge of Tomorrow appealed more to me is its Groundhog Day theme! Short synopsis of Edge of Tomorrow (source imdb.com) :

A soldier fighting in a war with aliens finds himself caught in a time loop of his last day in the battle, though he becomes better skilled along the way.

Warner Bros. has just released 3 character posters and a banner poster featuring both Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt and I must say that they look awesome in the posters. Keep reading to see the posters.

X-men Days Of Future past - 18 Character Posters (May 2014)

X-men days of future past
In about three weeks time, we will be getting "back to the future" treatment from the upcoming sequel of X-men Days Of Future Past. After a few trailers and media release, I would said that the upcoming installment looks intriguing enough for the X-men fans, even though not much of the really wow factors in the trailers itself (my personal opinion).

If you are still hazy about which mutants will be featured in the movie, fret not, Twentieth Century Fox has just released 18 character posters to help the audience to get familiarised with the mutants/casts. X-men Days Of Future Past will be released in cinemas on 23rd May 2014 in 3D and IMAX 3D.

If you want to check out the earlier trailers, click here. Else, keep reading to check out the 18 character posters.

Movie Review - The Amazing Spiderman 2 (SPOILER ALERT)

The Amazing Spiderman 2 - Movie Review
Finally, I've met the spidey in IMAX 3D, no less.

Prior to this, I've seen quite a mixed reviews regarding this second installment of the Spiderman reboot. As I always said, movie preference is very subjective and seeing is believing. Hence, I am here to give my 2-cents worth of personal review.

As the title said, this review will be filled with spoiler, hence, if you are going to watch it and don't want to be ruined by the spoiler(s), you may want to stop reading right now, right here! Else, proceed at your own risks.

THE STORY :

There are two main plots in the movie: a. the love relationship between Peter and Gwen Stacy. A lot screen time are spent in depicting Peter's struggles in whether to keep the promise (to Gwen's deceased father) or to follow his heart. b. Uncovering the plan of Oscorp (including the secret/disappearance of Peter Parker's father, Richard Parker). The Villains with super power (Electro, Green Goblin and Rhino) are kind of by the way product. Oh, that include Spider-man himself too.

WHAT I LIKE ABOUT THE MOVIE:

a. The chemistry between Andrew Garfield (Peter) and Emma Stone (Gwen Stacy) is electrifying. I guess their off-screen relationship does add-up to the chemistry. Also, the performance of Jamie Foxx (Electro) and Sally Field (Aunt May) are commendable.

b. The Special Effect is top notch to say the least. The web slinging sequence is really a joy to watch and the final fighting sequence between Spider-man and Electro is the highlight.

c. The overall pace of the movie is just nice. Not a non-stop action flick while it does provide enough emotional moments between Peter, Gwen and Aunty May.

e. The tone of the movie especially the way Spider-man swing into action which is care-free and comical at times.

The Amazing Spiderman 2

WHAT I DON'T LIKE ABOUT THE MOVIE:

a. The death of Gwen Stacy. I know Gwen Stacy died in the comic but I thought it would be a better option for her to die in the next installment so that the chemistry between Peter and Gwen can be further developed in the next serving.

b. The Rhino. I feel that it will be better off for the Rhino to appear in the next installment only since the last 4 to 5 minutes of its appearance doesn't go anywhere.

c. The sudden change of Eletro (Max) from a die-hard fan of Spider-man to the die-hard hater is not convincing enough. Green Goblin (Dane DeHaan) is kind of weak and only shows up for less than 5 minutes.
The Amazing Spiderman 2

MY OVERALL RATING :

3.5 (out of 5 STARS)

Not a classic but it is still a super-entertaining superhero movie.

The Amazing Spiderman 2

Have you watched the movie? What is your review?

Cheers!

P/S: Contrary to what has been reported, there is no extra scene after the ending credits, so, there is no need to wait for it ;-)

Sin City - A Dame To Kill For : 2 New Character Posters (Aug 2014)

Sin City A Dame To Kill For
Sin City is the kind of movie that you will either loved it or hated it. If you are the former, most likely you are a comic fan too! Why? Because it is a movie that looks like a moving comic, the only difference is that the characters are the real actors in the like of Bruce Willis, Josh Broslin, Eva Green, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and many more.

Sin City - A Dame To kill For is the sequel of 2005's Sin City and continue to be directed by Frank Miller and Robert Rodriguez with an even greater casts. from the look of its previous two trailers (click here to view), it will follow exactly the similar noir and comic style in its execution and lots of bright red blood is expected.

TMNT - Second New Trailer (August 2014)

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Here come the second trailer of TMNT (short for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles)! When the first trailer released a couple of weeks ago, the TMNT die-hard fans curse and swear, especially on the look of their beloved childhood idols, I means turtles. To be frank, most of them got a point as the new version of ninja turtle does look kind of ugly! I hope there is some explanation going on in the movie..

In any case, I am still putting an high hope on this movie to be an entertaining one, especially on the action sequences. Directed by Jonathan Liebesman and starring Megan Fox, William Fitchner, Whoopi Goldberg and Alan Ritchson. Short synopsis of TMNT (source : IMDB.com) :

Darkness has settled over New York City as Shredder and his evil Foot Clan have an iron grip on everything from the police to the politicians. The future is grim until four unlikely outcast brothers rise from the sewers and discover their destiny as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The Turtles must work with fearless reporter April O'Neil and her cameraman Vern Fenwick (Will Arnett) to save the city and unravel Shredder's diabolical plan

Godzilla - New International Trailer (May 2014)

Godzilla 2014
Recently, there are quite a fair bit of new media releases from the upcoming GODZILLA reboot. I must say that so far I am happy with what I've seen!

Just a few moment ago, a new international trailer (Asian version) has been released and there are more new footage can be found here. What's more interesting is that we are expecting to see not only Godzilla but other monsters as well. Also, Godzilla could jolly well our saviour and not enemy (just my own assumption basing on the new trailer).

Godzilla will be released on 16th May 2014 in 3D and IMAX 3D. Now, enjoy the awesome new international trailer below:

Cheers!
