Ant-Man - The Confirmed Director And Synopsis (Jul 2015)

Ant-man
Marvel has finally confirmed the long rumoured up-coming comic-adaptation, Ant-Man's director and synopsis. The Yes Man director, Peyton Reed will take on the director seat. Even though he is not the first choice (rumoured has it that Edgar Wright and Adam McKay both turned down the project), but still looking forward to it since it will be a brand new super-hero in big screen.

In terms of the casts, Paul Rudd (as the titular role) and Michael Douglas are the confirmed lead. Also, Marvel has disclosed the following official synopsis of Ant-man :

Armed with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, con-man Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) must embrace his inner-hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats. Against seemingly insurmountable obstacles, Pym and Lang must plan and pull off a heist that will save the world.

Ant-man will be released on 17th July 2015 and I believed it will most probably in 3D too.

The Minions Spin-Off Movie Is Pushed To 2015

the minions movie,
The insanely popular minions spin-off movie from The Despicable Me franchise was originally slated to be released in December 2014. However, recently Universal Pictures has announced that the film will only be released in July 2015. Anyway, it is just another 7 more months wait, I am sure the fans can cope with it! ;-)

In relation to this minions movie spin-off, previous reports have said that it will be set all the way back in the 1960s - long before the minions teamed up with Steve Carell's Gru. The story will follow three of the little yellow guys as they search for a new master to serve. They wind up working for a supervillain named Scarlet Overkill (who will be voiced by Sandra Bullock) and her husband Herb Overkill (voiced by Jon Hamm) [source : CinemaBlend.com].

On the face of it, it looks like 2015 will be jam packed with sequels and spin-off blockbusters, joining the pack are The Avengers: Age of Ultron, Star Wars: Episode VII, Batman vs. Superman, Jurassic World, Bond 24, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2, The Penguins of Madagascar, Hotel Transylvania 2, Kung Fu Panda 3 and more.

What about 2014? We will cover that in another post.

Cheers!

[NEWS] The Expendables 3 And Independence Day 2

the expendables 3 kelsey grammerThe third instalment of popular action thriller franchise, The Expendables 3 is already in the filming stage and slated to be released in August 2014. The latest news from Liongate is that Kelsey Grammer will be the new inclusion to the project. He'll play an ex-mercenary by the name of Bonaparte, a role that the outlet claims was initially offered to Nicolas Cage.

On the other hand, the other long awaited sequel, Independence Day 2 is also a confirmed project, Roland Emmerich will continue to direct this successful vehicle of his (since 1996). Even though it is still early stage but he has conveyed the following with Empire which is a positive sign:

"I should get the script pretty soon, then I'll try to get it into good shape for one or two months and, if that happens, we'll announce it and start production… We've created a mythology around these aliens, which is really cool. You have to create a mythology because people want to see a bigger picture."

Independence Day 2 is slated to be released in July 2015.

What do you think about these 2 upcoming projects?
