SPECIAL : Star Wars Episode 1 - The Phantom Menace (FREE Darth Maul Me App)

In conjunction with the forthcoming re-release of Star Wars Episode 1 - The Phantom Menace in 3D, Lucasfilm has recently launch a mobile app called "Darth Maul Me", in both iPhone and Android. As the name implied, the main purpose of this app is to transform your face (or your friend's face) into Darth Maul (the main villain in The Phantom Menace), within a few simple steps.

The best part is that you can post the transformed photo into facebook and share it across immediately. I've personally downloaded the app (using iPhone) and tried the transformation myself, the User Interface and special effect of the app is great and it's easy to use. The app is FREE, follow the link below to download the app:

For Android: Darth Maul Me

I believed majority of you have watched the original movie, if you want to rekindle the epic, click on the following image for more details:

What's Next After 3D Movie Experience?

For movie lovers (like me), it is important to enjoy the great theatrical experience in the cinema i.e. the ambiance that you can never be able to mimic at home (regardless of how good or expensive your home theatre system is). You might think that 3D movie is the best experience that you can enjoy in the cinema, but hang on there, wait till you experience the movie in IMAX (better still, 3D in IMAX).

After watching a few blockbuster movies in IMAX, like Kungfu Panda 2, The Adventures Of Tintin and MI:4, I started to get addicted to the IMAX version (3D or non-3D). Of course, you need to pay a premium for the tickets but it is worth it (in Singapore, it costs SGD19 [Monday to Thursday] or SGD22 [Friday to Sunday] a ticket to watch a 3D IMAX show. By the way, there is only one IMAX theatre in Singapore, which is Shaw Theatres Lido IMAX).

Without detailing any technicality, basically IMAX theatre enable you to enjoy sharper picture quality, crystal clear sound effect, bigger/wider screen and greater 3D effect. All in all, you will get a whole new cinematic experience with IMAX as the greens will be greener, the blood will be redder and...ok, I guess you would need to experience it yourself to truly enjoy it.

Just for the record, following are the forthcoming big budget blockbuster movies to be released in 3D IMAX around the world:

2. Wrath Of The Titans (Mar 2012)

3. The Lorax (Mar 2012)
4. Men In Black 3 (May 2012)

5. Batman - The Dark night Rises (Jul 2012)

6. The Amazing Spider-man (Jul 2012)

7. The Hobbit - An Unexpected Journey (Dec 2012)
And many more coming your way....

It seems like IMAX is here to stay (for good reason) and I really can't think of any forthcoming technology that can better it in the near future. Thus, get ready to be IMAX-ed!

Cheers!

John Carter (Mar 2012)

Initially, when I saw the movie's title, John Carter, I thought it is a documentary or true life story kind of drama. After viewing the movie poster, it strikes me as some kind of criminal or gangster movie (I omitted the big red planet at the background though). Yet, after watching the trailer, it reminded me of the movie "Gladiator" (by Russell Crowe) with a futuristic planet setting.

In any case, after watching the awesome trailers with plenty of awesome special effects, it is definitely one of my most anticipated 3D Movie to look out for in 2012 (at least for me). Also, this is a perfect movie for an IMAX 3D experience! Get ready to be WOWed!

Enjoy the sharing...

The Monkey King (2012)

"Journey To The West" is the most famous Chinese Mythology around. It has spawn into many successful TV series and movies (mainly from China, Hong Kong and Taiwan). Monkey King is the main character of this mythology. Today, I am going to share some of the photos highlight and video clip from the forthcoming blockbuster remake: The Monkey King (3D).
