The Monkey King (2012)

"Journey To The West" is the most famous Chinese Mythology around. It has spawn into many successful TV series and movies (mainly from China, Hong Kong and Taiwan). Monkey King is the main character of this mythology. Today, I am going to share some of the photos highlight and video clip from the forthcoming blockbuster remake: The Monkey King (3D).

Besides the Hollywood standard of visual and special effects, the other major attraction of this movie is it's casts. Most of them are A-list actors/actresses. To name just a few: Chow Yun Fatt (playing the Jade Emporer), Donnie Yen (playing the title role, Monkey King), Aaron Kwok (playing Bull Demon King), Kelly Chen (playing Guan Yin) etc...

The release date has not been announced but it has created quite a buzz in last year's press conference. It is one of the most anticipated Chinese 3D Movie EVER!

Yet another blockbuster sequel in 2012! 5 years after the reasonably successful release of Ghost Rider in 2007, Nicholas Cage reprises the main character, Johny Blaze aka the Ghost Rider. In this instalment, the location is shifted from USA to Eastern Europe. Again, it will be a show about good "devil" vs a bunch of bad "devils". Lots of flying chain with fiery fires are expected (as you can see from the movie poster on the left).

Nicholas Cage's stardom has taken a huge dip in the recent years, mainly because most of his recent movies are flopped in the box-office. In fact, I can't even remember the title of his latest movie (oh wait, I think I remember now, it's called "Drive Angry". I didn't watch it as I can't get pass the movie title, it's just so tasteless). Hope he can redeem himself again with this forthcoming blockbuster (like what Tom Cruise did in MI:4).

Journey 2: The Mysterious Island (Feb 2012)

As this is a sequel to the earlier hit journey*, hence the title Journey 2: The Mysterious Island. Except for the kid''s role (Josh Hutcherson, a teenager now), all other roles are brand new. However, I don't foresee there is any connection between these 2 journeys, thus, we should be fine. I enjoyed the first journey very much, it is a very fun filled and visually stunning journey.

Basing on the trailers and the preview, it seems that Journey 2 is another visual treats, lots of non-stop action and laughter is expected. Even though I personally like Branden Fraser more than "The Rock" (Dwayne Johnson), but I guess there is not much difference as both actors are famous for their similar "stone-face" acting...Besides, The Rock is much more convincing as an action hero role ;-) 

As per the earlier journey, there will be many unexpected creatures keep bombarding at you. In Journey 2, the most promising ones are the cute mini elephant and the giant butterflies...
